Certified Professional Organizer® (CPO®)
Exam A Milestone for Organizing Industry

Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO®) Formed To Create, Administer Exam

Dunedin, FL. The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO®) announces that it has developed the Certified Professional Organizer® (CPO®) examination. This voluntary-industry led effort represents a milestone in the professional organizing industry.

“In any industry, professional standards contribute to the evolution of the industry as a whole,” says BCPO® president Audrey Lavine, CPO®. “Certification is a voluntary effort that recognizes professionals in the organizing industry who have met specific minimum standards, and proven through examination and client interaction that they possess the body of knowledge and experience required for certification.”

The BCPO® is the self-governing, independent certifying body formed in 2007 to recognize and raise industry standards, practices and ethics through independent certification. The BCPO®’s mission is to affirm and acknowledge the passion for the organizing profession by advancing industry credibility, professionalism, and ethical standards through credentialing. In recognizing the experienced organizer, the BCPO® seeks to inspire all organizers to provide superior client services and to continue to develop expertise in the transfer of higher-level organizing skills. The resulting CPO® designation is a measure of the industry’s maturity and long-term viability in the marketplace.

While the CPO® designation is not an endorsement or recommendation, the public can rely on this certification to maximize the value received from the products and services provided by a CPO®.
