Dunedin, FL. The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO®) will have a booth at the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) conference in Orlando, Florida. From April 29 through May 2, 2009, anyone who visits the BCPO® booth (#106) and completes a min-survey will be eligible for a raffle to win a free application fee for the computer-based examination.
“You’ll be able to spot us by the banner of faces on the wall,” says Audrey Lavine, CPO® and President of the BCPO®, the self-governing, independent certifying body formed to recognize and raise industry standards, practices and ethics through independent certification. “We’ll have a big poster with headshots of some of the 320 individuals who have already earned the right to call themselves CPOs.”
Conference participants will also be able to sign up for exam study groups, get answers to their questions about becoming certified and recertified, continuing education and anything else on their minds. Current CPOs will also be able to purchase a CPO® pin, or pay their annual maintenance fees at the booth.
Anyone who meets the specific minimum criteria, and proves through examination and client interaction that they possess the body of knowledge and experience required for certification, can earn the CPO® designation. For example, management and life coaches, those who work with individuals with ADD/ADHD, senior move managers, records managers and other related specialists may qualify.
For more information on the BCPO®, the CPO® designation, including requirements to sit for the examination and to find a CPO® in your area, contact 1-800-556-0484 or visit www.certifiedprofessionalorganizers.org.
